A Note From The Editor Of GoodHomes India

For someone who likes browsing though “real” home stores – I like reaching out every now and again to feel the texture, round up a contour, check a tuck even – I’ve spent a lot of time hmm-ing over the good stuff on pepperfry.com. I get aware (read ‘conscious’) of this every time I’m dishing out shopping advice to friends, readers or family.

Things changed a bit – for the better – in my head, when we styled the interiors for the home of one of our GoodHomes’s readers in a remote part of Orissa. This was five years ago. None of the stores would deliver the furniture we wanted to the house. Obviously, accessibility was an issue…a huge one! I have to be honest here and say, at that point, pepperfry was my last choice. But I was forced to make it!

Again, I have to be honest here and say that I was very pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the entire experience – from the browsing to the final payment. In fact, let me rephrase that… I was so thrilled by the entire process and how it involved and unravelled around me that I haven’t been able to look back ever since. Today, if you asked me, I’d say, virtual, online shopping is the best thing that happened to me. And it wouldn’t be wrong to say that pepperfry did that to me. How, you want to know?

Pepperfry is not just about selling furniture and home things. Each time I log in, they inspire me. I want to make some change somewhere in my home to make it a more beautiful place. It’s one of the main reasons why I believe in BonHomie, the new blog from the Pepperfry mindscape. The whole point behind this delightful new venture is to help people turn their drab shell flats and houses into homes that have always lived in their dreams. I see BonHomie not only as a source of inspiration to its readers, but also the beautiful vessel that will help Pepperfry achieve their vision of helping create 20 million beautiful homes by 2020!
